Open lectures and events
Table of contents:
The Centre for Gender Research organises several different types of lectures and events open to the public. On this page you can read more about what is happening at the Centre this term.
The Centre has a seminar series on Thursdays, 13.15–15.00 for all those interested in gender and gender research. The Thursday seminars touch upon several different research areas reflecting the breath of research within gender studies. The seminars also aim to create cross-disciplinary meetings between researchers and students.
The Centre for Gender Research organise Queer seminars open to the public for those interested in queer theory and/or working with the concept of queer in practice, theory or activism.
The Centre for Gender Research, in collaboration with Folkuniversitetet and Reginateatern, arranges the lecture series, Gender Lunch (in Swedish). This semester we have two gender lunches, where researchers from the Centre present on different topics. A soup lunch is served and the talk begins afterwards. The gender lunches are funded with support from Folkuniversitetsföreningen.
More information about the programme for autumn 2020 is published here in August.
Feminist City Walk
We want more people to get to know the university-town Uppsala from a feminist perpective. We therefore organise Feminist city walks for anyone interested. The Feminist city walks are free of charge and open for all. The purpose of the feminist city walk is to highlight feminist protagonists that have lived and worked in Uppsala, as well as show places that are or have been important to the fight for equality.
